Join our vibrant studio of art, learning, and fun! Local arts school (Camas, WA) seeks substitute and part-time instructors for dance, theater, and fitness classes.
Qualifications - Dance:
- Enjoys teaching all ages
- Undergraduate degree in Dance and/or significant professional experience
- Minimum 4 years of teaching experience
- Highly skilled in at least one style of dance (Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Theater Dance, Contemporary, Breakdance) and/or early childhood movement education
- Experienced in staging, choreographing, costuming, and general performance practices
- Able to demonstrate movement accurately, get up and down from the floor, and stand for a minimum of one hour
Qualifications - Theater:
- Enjoys teaching all ages
- Undergraduate degree in Theater and/or significant professional experience
- Minimum 4 years of teaching experience
- Able to teach acting skills as well as theatrical dance styles such as jazz and tap (preferred)
- Able to teach vocal performance (preferred)
- Experienced in staging, choreographing, costuming, and general performance practices
Qualifications - Fitness:
- Interested in teaching adult populations, including seniors
- Current certification in Group Exercise, Personal Training, Yoga, Pilates, Barre, etc.
- Holds multiple fitness certifications (preferred)
- Is experienced in safety protocols for exercise
- Current CPR certification
- Able to demonstrate movement accurately, get up and down from the floor, and stand for a minimum of one hour
Essential Functions/Duties:
- Teach students of various ages in accordance with school policies, procedures, and practices
- Maintain student records and files as requested
- Arrive on time for work, attend work consistently, and successfully complete the responsibilities of the position
- Collaborate with other faculty on classes, concerts/performances (on or off campus), workshops, outreach activities, and master classes
- Implement teaching methods and course development as recommended by the director
- Attend continuing education courses to maintain certifications and remain current with industry standards
- Provide input and work with other faculty and staff to review, produce and/ or select related teaching materials
- Willingness to adhere to COVID-19 safety measures
- Criminal background checks are required for all staff members
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong command of technology to support teaching
- Extensive knowledge of the subject(s) on which the individual is responsible for instructing
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and spirit for collaboration
