JOB TITLE: Accounts Receivable Specialist
REPORTS TO: Director of Accounting Operations
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to lead its billing/collections function. ICE is one of America’s leading centers for culinary education and the largest culinary school in New York City and Los Angeles. We are passionate about helping students of all ages and backgrounds pursue their culinary dreams. We’re looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist who is passionate about the world of food and is excited to contribute to our growing organization.

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is a key member of our Accounting team and reports directly to our Director of Accounting Operations. We support and reward creativity, performance, professional development and team involvement. We also have fun, and eat well, in the process!
Specific Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee all activities associated with billing, collections and account reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner.
- Accurately calculate charges, credits and refunds as necessary.
- Oversee delinquent account collections in a regulatorily compliant manner.
- Work across departments (Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid) as needed to facilitate a smooth student experience.
- Provide excellent customer service and on demand trouble-shooting
- Ability to effectively communicate in person, via telephone and email.
- Other duties as required.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Great customer service skills
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- High energy level, ability to work well under pressure
- Must possess a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
- Proficiency in detailed accounting transactions, processing and systems.
- Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, specifically Word and Excel
- BA/BS degree preferred
- Prior Bursar experience within a title IV eligible institution a plus.
- Knowledge of CampusVue a plus
