Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator/Specialist to join our team. The Safety Coordinator/Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure work environment by fostering a safety culture and promoting an environment where both employees and clients feel secure. The Safety Coordinator/Specialist is responsible for continuously monitoring safety procedures to ensure a safe and compliant work environment at client sites and Premium Plant Services/Innovative Plant Services facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and current records of training, inspections, and incident reports for their assigned location(s).
- Conduct and schedule annual hearing and respirator fit tests along with other monthly/annual functions.
- Conduct on-the-job audits and report findings to the safety team.
- Manage and replenish PPE inventory as needed.
- Assign, distribute and demonstrate proper use of key PPE items upon issue.
- Assist both the Safety and Operations team regarding compliance with FMCSA rules and regulations by conducting weekly audits on driver logs.
- Complete near miss reports, and injury investigations as needed.
- Act as a Safety lead on various jobs inside and outside of the local customer base on an as needed basis.
- Work as a team with other branch Safety Specialists/Coordinators to develop, modify, and train staff on various tasks and procedures.
- Ability to coach individuals on the job to further the effectiveness of your safety role.
- Ability to use resources, internal or external, to make an informed decision on safety issues.
- Conduct/assist with branch level safety training.
- Conduct/assist with branch level waste management (RCRA, etc.)
- Other duties, as assigned.

Preferred Qualification:
- Acquired formal health, safety, or environmental degree or certification(s)
- Possess or ability to obtain safety training certifications or other equivalent experience/certification. Examples: OSHA 30 General Industry, Certified Safety Manager (CSM) etc.
- Competency with the tools, methods, procedures, machines, and equipment used in industrial cleaning.
- Detailed knowledge of PPS/IPS company policies and standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 to 4 years of related industry experience.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations; DOT regulations.
- Excellent communication (written & verbal), presentation, and facilitation skills.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
