Job Summary:
In accordance with the organization’s mission, vision and values, the maintenance staff is responsible for the maintenance and repairs associated with all FLACRA facilities and sites.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of general facility maintenance experience. Basic computer skills required in order to maintain electronic work order tracking system. NYS Driver’s License strongly preferred.
Duties:
- Receives and responds to oral and/or computerized work orders (Spice Works) from Facility/Property Manager.
- Makes carpentry, electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs.
- Performs work according to standard procedure and by building's operational schedule.
- Participates in building coverage by working evenings and weekend rotation as required.
- Participates in Maintenance on-call rotation, this includes lockouts if needed.
- Performs touch up and finish painting.
- Cleans rooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, stairways and windows as directed by Facility/Property Manager.
- Uses hand tools and power tools in making minor maintenance repairs and maintaining grounds and walks. This includes snow removal from entrances/walkways, lawn mowing, trimming bushes and debris removal- snow removal and sidewalks if needed.
- Uses brooms, mops, and floor equipment to sweep, mop, strip and wax floors.
- Uses vacuum cleaners and/or shampooer to clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and blinds.
- Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, doors and sills.
- Replaces light bulbs which may require the use of a ladder.
- Sets up and tears down chairs, tables and equipment in meeting rooms, and program locations.
- Picks up and delivers supplies and materials to programs that are not direct shipped to program sites. (The majority of supplies are direct shipped to each program location.)
- Opens and closes building according to security procedures – This includes lockout calls if needed..
- Provides assistance to officials, staff, visitors, and other employees as necessary.
- Reports work accomplished orally or on written work order to Facility/Property Manager.
- Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures.
Other Skills/Knowledge and Experience:
- The skills and knowledge required would generally be obtained with previous experience in building maintenance and cleaning work.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral or written instructions.
- Ability to relate to officials, staff and public in a courteous manner.
- Ability to bend, kneel, lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to continuous walk, up to 6 hours per day.
- Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
