Les Lilas is an independent, French American bilingual school that uses the Montessori Method and serves an international community of preschool to 5th grade students in Kirkland, WA.
Les Lilas offers an academic, bilingual program using Montessori Pedagogy and has a student body of more than 80 students from preschool through 5th grade (ages 3-11). We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to oversee the daily operational activities of our school. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a passion for education and a talent for creating efficient, vibrant, and supportive learning environments.
Duties include:
- Operational Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and effective learning environment.
- Facilities Management: Manage the school's physical environment,including maintenance, safety protocols, and space utilization, to ensure a safe and welcoming atmosphere.
- Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to school operations, including health and safety standards.
- Financial Oversight: Assist in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and managing operational expenses. Work closely with the financial department to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Human Resources: Oversee administrative staff recruitment, training, and development (with support from the Head of School). Ensure staffing levels are adequate to support school operations.
- Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships with the school community, including students, parents, staff, and external partners.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to the school’s strategic planning efforts, particularly in areas related to operational efficiency and sustainability.
- Technology Integration: Oversee the integration of technology in school operations to enhance educational delivery and administrative efficiency.
- Crisis Management: Develop and implement emergency procedures and crisis management plans.
Hours: 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. from Monday through Friday
Qualifications (required):
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education Management, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in operations management, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong leadership skills and a proven track record of managing teams and building community.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in French and English is required to support our bilingual environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all school stakeholders.
- Knowledge of educational regulations and best practices.
- At least 2 years of recent experience working with children.
- A passion for working with students from pre-K to 5th grade.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Highly skilled in collaborative teamwork within a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in a similar role is a plus.
- Experience in bilingual/dual language and international, independent education.
Start Date: August 1, 2024
Salary Range: $60,000–$75,000
