Weekend Nights Friday through Sunday 6pm-6am
The Material Handler performs an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse in accordance with Schuman Cheese Mission and Values; working with Commitment, Honesty and Integrity, Pride, be Adaptable and Innovative.
Responsibilities:

Prepare & complete orders for pickup according to schedule (pulling materials, load, wrap, label, ship).
- Receive & process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label - lpn's, store).
- Perform inventory controls & keep quality standards high.
- Maintain a safe & clean work environment by keeping shelves pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping area.
- Complying with Company procedures, rules and regulations; optimize space utilization.
- Report any discrepancies.

Truck inspections to include, temperatures, seals and condition of loads.
- Communicate & cooperate with supervisors, shipping clerk, co-workers, & truck drivers in a professional manner.
- Load & unloading of trucks in a safe manner.
- Operate and maintain preventively warehouse forklifts, hand lifts, and equipment.
- Follow quality service standards & comply with company procedures, rules, and regulations.

Maintain responsibility for the quality and food safety of products.
- Bring food safety and quality problems to the immediate attention of Schuman personnel with authority to initiate action.

Education, Experience, Qualities and Skills Required:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

1-2 years previous warehouse experience preferred.

Forklift and hand lift experience preferred (must be able to obtain forklift license).

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel.

Strong organizational skills and paying special attention to details.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures.

Ability to multi-task, work quickly while accurately.
- Inventory, Equipment maintenance, data entry and computer skills may be required.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, on occasion up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitious, production-line types of work.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
- Able to work inside a freezer or cooler and in cheese processing environment temperatures (32 – 52 degrees F).

Able to work with tree nuts and milk allergens.
