**This position will focus on Clinical Education on CCOC Hospital's Med/Surg Unit**
Position Summary
The Clinical Educator, RN plans, develops and organizes education programs primarily for nursing staff and participates in organization-wide education programs/initiatives. Possesses organizational and leadership skills; is resourceful and able to work under pressure. Has the ability to communicate effectively with physicians, leadership, and staff.
Essential Job Functions/Accountabilities
Plans, implements, and evaluates education programs; Creates education programs to meet the mission and vision of CCOC.
Regular rounding on unit(s), identifying educational opportunities. Mentors staff in clinical skills to ensure safe, quality care.
Provides orientation sessions to prepare staff for roles across the organization; Ensures proper documentation of orientation processes within the organization.
Assists with the development of annual competency training for all levels within the organization; Develops and updates policy and procedures within the organization, collaborating on policies as appropriate.
Maintains complete and accurate documentation of education activities as required by regulatory agencies. Participates in new product in-service across the organization.
Coordinates and facilitates student clinical rotations, internships, and shadowing experiences.
Facilitates processes to ensure CCOC is meeting and following hospital required regulations.. Participates in committees within the organization.
All other duties not specifically assigned.
Position Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or healthcare-related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years experience as a bedside nurse with strong interpersonal skills. Previous experience in staff education or professional development preferred; Proven in depth knowledge and experience of the development, design, implementation, and evaluation of interventions to improve organizational learning and performance
Technical Skills: Advanced clinical nursing skills and knowledge required. Experience using a Learning Management System preferred. Demonstrated teaching skills, leadership, and critical thinking skills required. Must possess knowledge of personal computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations: Current, unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio required; BLS within 3 months of hire; ACLS within 6 months of hire.
Schedule: Monday-Friday
Status: Full-Time 40 hours per week
