Precise Behavioral, Inc. is looking for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our growing team! The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is an essential team member responsible for providing and ensuring the highest standards of safety, and continuity of care. You will collaborate with psychiatrists to care for individuals and their families throughout their lifespan to promote mental health and education. Primary responsibilities will include assessment and diagnosis of mental health conditions, prescribing medications and other therapies, ordering and interpreting lab and other diagnostic tests and making appropriate referrals when necessary.
Work Environment
NPs work in close contact with patients who have moderate to severe psychiatric concerns and/or behavioral issues. There is the possibility the NP could be exposed to violent behavior from patients and/or behavioral issues as part of their daily duties.
Essential Core Functions:
- Complete patient diagnoses, treatment, education, and referrals in accordance with Hospital policies
- Demonstrate high level of autonomy/expert skill in diagnosis/treatment of complex responses of individual/families/communities to actual or potential mental health problems.
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments.
- Perform treatment planning and intervention.
- Medication orders and reconciliation
- Conduct physical exams of the patient during admission and attend to basic medical needs/issues; work with hospital specialists to manage more complicated medical conditions.
- Conduct rounds on patients
- Ensure optimal patient care
- Work closely with the psychiatrist to provide appropriate psychiatric care.
- Perform as part of the treatment team in planning, coordinating and implementing nursing care activities for patients
- Assist Program leadership in assessing, creating and implementing advanced practice provider procedures, or ensuring existing procedures meet federal and state regulations and guidelines for Nurse Practitioner scope of practice
- Interpret the clinical needs of the patient to nonclinical staff assigned to the patient
- Provide telemedicine on-call coverage utilizing tele psychiatry and patient round psychiatric services for Client’s psychiatric program. Utilize tele psychiatry and patient round tele psych
- Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients, families and friends
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality; and protects operations by keeping patient and program information confidential

Job Specifications:
- Master’s Degree in nursing from an accredited institution
- Active, unrestricted license as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, along with psychiatric certification (PMHNP)
- Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in psych
- Specialized as a PMHNP and previous experience in behavioral health working with geriatric, adult and/or adolescent populations
- DEA, NPI & Prescriptive authority
- Current BLS and ACLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association
