We are seeking a talented Field Service Engineer to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to work with our diverse customer base, implementing PLC/PC based control systems for process controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for learning, with or without direct control system experience. Experience in plant operations or maintenance would be advantageous. This position requires frequent travel to client sites, with approximately 50% of the entire calendar year spent on-site.
Responsibilities:
- Commission and startup control systems for process manufacturing plants, ensuring smooth integration and operation. Coordinate onsite efforts with relevant personnel (project managers, engineers, millwrights, electricians, IT, and others.)
- Provide remote and onsite technical support, testing and troubleshooting control systems to identify and resolve issues.
- Document installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities accurately and comprehensively.
- Assist in testing and training customers on custom end user software.
- Track all project booking and expenses.
- Perform ladder edits (Studio5000), file transfers and software updates using remote access tools.
- Communicate effectively with the customers, installation crews, and third-party consultants to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Meet commissioning requirements, including potential weekday, weekend, holiday, and third-shift work.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times during site visits.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate degree or relevant experience in plant operations, maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong aptitude for learning and problem-solving, with the ability to quickly grasp new concepts and technologies.
- Familiarity with PC Operating systems (Win10) and basic networking.
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLC (Logix5000, Control and Compact Logix)/XML edits/SQL Database file access/scripts, networking and troubleshooting required.
- Knowledge of typical factory automation equipment (motors, VFD’s, analog circuits, etc.)
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals.
- Capable of working independently, climbing stairs, and working in industrial environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional demeanor in client and team interactions.
- Able to travel extensively in 2-4+ week increments at a time, up to 12 hours per day, and work flexible hours as needed.
- Hold a valid passport and ability to travel unrestricted to Canada & other countries.

Work Environment:
- Repete’s core business hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (CT), Monday through Friday. This position will require work outside of core business hours.
