We are looking for a full time JOBS Employment Specialist at our Randolph site. This person would help develop and implement employment and transitional services to students with emotional disabilities. To provide teaching and training relative to life and employment skills to students and to assist students in planning for their future. To build community relationships and opportunities for students related to their transition goals.
- Perform vocational assessments with students to determine areas of strength, interest, and aptitude.
- Establishes and maintains a strong working relationship with a students’ family and encourages participation and involvement in transition planning.
- Develops effective relationships with community employers to establish appropriate job training environments for students.
- Conduct job development and placement of student into appropriate job-training situations.
- Assesses the need for and implements supports and strategies that will support students’ initial entry into an employment and training settings(e.g. facilitated interviews, job shadowing, initial orientation).
- Provide consultation and education to employers related to students’ abilities, potential barriers to success, and strategies to enforce successful employment. (e.g. peer support, off-site training).
- Facilitates and monitors the students’ evaluations and assessments.
- Collects and complies data on student progress and keeps student records updated.
- Maintains open communication with employers, teachers, and other team members related to students’ job placement and progress.
Batchelor's degree is preferred in Social Work, Rehabilitation, Special Education or related field.
Encouraging those with experience in community-based instruction, vocational training and/or transition from school to work to apply.
