The Purchasing Agent will negotiate with domestic vendors for the purchase of materials, supplies, equipment and services used by the company and be primarily accountable for the ordering and on time delivery of required materials to their appropriate destinations.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Coordinate purchasing activities, reviews purchase orders to ascertain accuracy and conformity with quote.
- Coordinate bidding process, drafts specifications as needed and submits requests for bids/proposals to vendors or service providers
- Recommends and structures contracts with vendors and researches new supply sources
- Analyze market conditions, sales records and inventory levels, and makes recommendations for adjustment in purchasing strategies
- Develop and administer a supplier evaluation program to evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, service, availability, reliability and selection variety.
- Ensure departmental compliance with all applicable codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures, and initiates any actions necessary to correct deviations or violations.
- Assist in resolving problems with purchases or services, discusses defective or unacceptable goods/services with users, vendors or inspectors to determine source of problem and the appropriate corrective action.
- Maintain and revise current catalogs, price lists and vendor information
- Attend meetings and makes presentations as needed
- Prepare RFQ’s, negotiates with vendors for cost, delivery, quality, and payment terms
- Present purchase propositions to the Purchasing Manager
- Document Legal Agreements
- Work Daily MRP action list
- Work with suppliers and the product development team for sample approvals, testing requirements approvals and Quality Assurance documentation
- Traces delinquent arrivals from Purchase Orders
- Reporting – develops and distributes daily, weekly, and monthly supplier evaluation, contacts, and terms
- Issues and tracks all Manufacturing Work Orders.
- Assigns and Maintains all bin and warehouse locations
- Performs physical daily count in the warehouse to ensure inventory levels are accurate and maintained
- Tracks inventory levels and ensures stock doesn’t fall below safety stock minimum

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
