The Rowan University South Jersey Technology Park is seeking an Learning Design Product Manager, responsible for the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation to delivery. This role requires the candidate to collaborate with cross functional teams, and translate partner needs and requirements into programming; pilot features and re fine long term product roadmap vis-a-vis GTM strategy. This position is key in achieving Rowan University’s mission and goals including access, affordability, quality, and economic impact.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and articulate a clear product vision and strategy for the online education business line, aligning with overall university goals
- Create collaboration checklist or mechanisms to align on the customization needed- across branding, course curriculum, and support offerings; host collaboration focus groups with Academic Leadership to estimate product development needs
- Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and identify opportunities for product innovation; collaborate with academic departments, marketing, and other stakeholders to gather and prioritize product requirements
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, and instructional designers, to bring online education products from concept to launch; drive agile development processes, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products
- Update course design guide for Academic Leadership to include course design features and support features
- Implement course refresh cycles ~1-2 years, informing potential updates through student and faculty feedback
- Create compelling product narratives, presentations, and collateral to support marketing and sales efforts.
Key Metrics Essential for Effective Performance:
- User engagement – student activity usage and student satisfaction
- Product development efficiency – time to market and release success rate
Qualifications:
- Strong technical background or background in engineering with 5+ yrs of industry experience
- Proven experience in product management, preferably in the education or technology sector
- History of collaborative work with marketing teams to create outstanding acquisition and user onboarding experiences
- Ability to drive co-creation of product roadmap and feedback mechanisms that align stakeholder expectations on an ongoing basis
- Deep understanding of product tools, methodology, processes, and systems
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including senior leadership up to the C level
- Basic proficiency in SQL and strong data analytics skills, with a dedication to analyzing data
