Overall Purpose of The Job
The Senior Accountant is responsible for the daily and month end processes associated with payroll, capital, and IT as well as the ongoing financial support/analysis necessary to support the business. This may include but is not limited to journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, reporting, corporate templates/forms, financial analysis, process improvement, etc
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing of daily and month-end closing processes to include but is not limited to journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, reporting (standard/adhoc), corporate templates and P&L analysis.
- Act as lead liaison with various departments within the company (i.e. Human Resources, IT, etc.)
- Be responsible for the recording and analysis of payroll and capital activities (journal entries, capital authorizations, fixed assets, etc.)
- Drive processes to ensure adherence to reporting standards, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Review, document and improve upon the company policies, procedures, and internal controls, this may include but not limited to the proper design, operational effectiveness, and communication of suggestions for continuous improvement
- Discuss and communicate accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to internal/external individuals to assist them in the understanding of accounting and finance treatments
- Assist with and drive financial analysis of company financial statements on a monthly basis
- Assist with audits (internal/external) including the preparation/analysis of requests
- Drive process improvements, where/when necessary to improve efficiency and timing within the role of the Senior Accountant, as well as within the Accounting/Finance department and Medaire Worldwide as a whole
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Knowledge/understanding/application of Accounting, Finance and Internal Control principles/processes, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Advanced analysis of financial data as well as the ability to prepare financial reports and management reports (standard/adhoc)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with U.S. and international associates
- Ability to work in a team environment including strong influencing skills and the ability to deliver results in a matrix reporting environment
- Advanced Excel and problem-solving skills

Required Work Experience
- Five (5) to eight (8) years of progressive experience in the areas of accounting, finance, financial reporting, financial analysis and driving process improvements
- Highly effective analytics, communication, and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience working with cross functional teams in a matrix organization
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/etc.) as well as with accounting and financial software (Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, etc.)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or Finance
- MBA and/or CPA preferred
- Six Sigma a plus
