The Software Engineer designs, configures, implements and supports the majority of cloud environments at Cox Automotive. As part of the Engineering Enablement, you are responsible todeliver best-in-class tooling and platforms to enable hundreds of teams across the organization to be successful and productive. The Software Engineer will be providing technical guidance, support and acting as a point of escalation for cloud solutions at Cox Automotive. This engineer is also critical to helping identify cost saving opportunities within Cloud Infrastructure and creatively solve complex problems. You thrive in a fast-paced atmosphere where wearing multiple hats is encouraged. You learn new skills and technology quickly. You have strong collaboration/communication skills.
This is a 6-month W2 contract assignment with the opportunity for contract extension or to transition to a permanent, full-time role based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the Software Engineer:

Engineers will be using ServiceNOW to manage their ticket queue to support internal Cox Auto employees.

This person will learn a lot of AWS and Terraform. Other tools we support are PagerDuty, NewRelic, Lucid Chart, Slack. The type of work will range from AWS Tickets below and some simple tasks like access tickets that fail automation.

Write readable, maintainable, and efficient code.

Participate in best practices, code reviews, and process improvements.

Ensures all documentation and knowledge bases are updated to help encourage good collaboration within and outside of our group.\

Performs architectural cloud review of incoming requests to assess and make recommendations to our customers.

Analyzing current process in the Engineering Business Operations group and identifying ways of improving process.

Collaborate with team members and leadership to develop road maps and strategies for the Cloud.

Enabling customers getting into the cloud with configuration/deployment of new accounts and other requests.

Passionate and flexible engineer that enjoys solving complex problems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualifications of the Software Engineer:

BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of industry related professional experience and education.

Minimum 1-3+ years experience

Experience in application development.
