We are looking for a multifaceted and tech-savvy Technical Program / Product Manager to coordinate a team of machine learning engineers building Expedia Group's Machine Learning Platform. You will deliver solutions end-to-end to help teams across the organization build AI applications at scale, thus impacting millions of customers world-wide. This is a temporary 9-month assignment.
This is a complex role with broad responsibilities that require knowledge of and experience with machine learning and complex software projects. As a member of our ML Technical Program Management team, you will develop work plans to meet EG, Division and Stakeholder strategic objectives. You will support and collaborate with multiple teams of machine learning scientists, engineers and software developers. You will work with business product managers and technical leaders to conceive, scope, prioritize, architect, develop and deliver capabilities for EG’s Machine Learning Platform.
Responsibilities of the Technical Product Manager:
- Gain a deep technical understanding of Expedia Group’s Machine Learning platform and drive end-to-end delivery through agile engineering practices
- Champion the agile software development lifecycle and know how various agile engineering practices can be used (e.g., in planning, requirements analysis, design, coding, unit testing, acceptance testing)
- Build and communicate a roadmap of planned and potential work
- Develop project schedules and prioritize tasks to achieve project targets and deliver objectives within agreed timeframes
- Bring together partners with varied perspectives to develop solutions and contribute your own suggestion
- Define and report key results and performance metrics
- Keep partners informed of progress or changes to scope and project schedul
- Identify risks and issues and drive their mitigation and resolution
- Assess bottlenecks in work processes within teams to streamline and simplify workflow
- Be involved in different stages of the product development lifecycle from idea generation to bringing a product to market by supporting the different phases and improving product performance
Qualifications of the Technical Product Manager:
- Passion for AI, machine learning, and building software systems
- Solid technical background and experience in driving delivery of software or machine learning products end-to-end through agile methodologies
- Previous experience as a machine learning scientist, machine learning engineer, software developer, or product manager is a big plus
- Experience in building Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning platforms and other complex engineering ecosystems preferred
- Experience in building clear, concise, and well-structured functional material (e.g. policies & procedures, guidelines, presentations, messages)
- Ability to communicate a compelling rationale and narrative to peers and partners about the products and services produced by the team
- Familiarity with fundamental business, economics, mathematics, statistics, and computer science concepts

The pay rate range provided is a reasonable estimate of the anticipated compensation range for this job at the time of posting. The actual pay rate will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, location and/or being pursued and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition, this role will be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements.
