Richmond Ballet, the State Ballet of Virginia, seeks an Artistic Operations Coordinator to join a dynamic and diverse team of arts professionals at one of the country’s most admired and accomplished regional ballet companies.
The Artistic Operations Coordinator oversees and implements the daily administrative activities relating to the artistic staff, professional dancers and visiting artists. This position provides executive level support for the Artistic Director and is the point of contact for calendar management, rehearsal scheduling, and correspondence while also managing multiple projects simultaneously with little to no supervision.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Assists the Artistic staff with executive administrative support;
2. Prints and distributes daily schedules;
3. Arranges hotel reservations, transportation, catering needs for visiting artists;
4. Communicates requests and changes between Artistic staff, dancers and production staff;
5. Assists dancers and Artistic staff at all performances;
6. Liaison for HR on dancer payroll and workers compensation when needed;
7. Communicates with guest artists including; dancers, choreographers and designers;
8. Distributes cast list and communicates updates with any changes to cast and/ or rehearsal calls;
9. Attends meetings and takes minutes for leadership team;
10. Travels with Artistic and Production teams when needed;
11. Maintains department reports and assists with contracts;
12. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the job classification.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- A positive and enthusiastic nature and love of dance;
- A belief in and enthusiasm for Richmond Ballet’s mission;
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Proficient using Microsoft Office
Education and Education:
- BA in Business Administration preferred / or equivalent combination of education, training and experience;
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related software;
- 2+ years of experience working in an administrative role preferably with executive leadership in a performing arts setting.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
