Position Overview
The Regional Composite Sales Manager will focus on supporting the Branch Managers and the General Manager in the execution and achievement of the agreed multi-year business plan with a focus on driving sales. This role is expected to lead efforts to maximize our Composite advantage and travel throughout the region, depending on schedule and needs of the business.
The candidate needs to be located in Texas or the Midwest region.
PRIOR COMPOSITE SALES/PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Responsibilities
a) Planning
a. Participates in regional business plan formulation with the General Manager
b. With the Branch Managers, turns business plan into sales objectives and supports the branch in achieving those objectives
c. Will lead efforts to streamline composite products between groups and set appropriate inventory levels that are shared between both groups
d. Oversight of off-site warehouses and ensures products are flowing in/out as expected
e. Ensures products are moved to traditional warehouses when possible, to mitigate storage fees
f. Assist Branch Managers to reviews territory targets, monitors progress and collaborates on corrective action to stay on target
g. Travel with outside Sales Reps as necessary
b) Leadership of People
a. Provides guidance and mentorship to inside and outside sales staff
b. Acts as a role model to model improve sales techniques that improve sales
c. Leads or plays key role in regional sales meetings
d. Participates in the training of new sales staff both inside and outside
e. Provides assistance in hiring and developing inside and outside sales staff
c) Operations and Sales
a) Identifies growth opportunities within local customer base
b) Builds increased market share in the region by helping the Branch Manager execute and successfully implement sales and marketing efforts
c) Assist in the development of new product & supply lines within the region
d) Assist the Branch Manager to ensure the branch is maximizing margin opportunities (e.g.: market-based selling) and achieving sales commitments through use of company assets (AR and Inventory) consistent with region’s guidelines
e) Reviews sales budgets and assist the Branch Manager in developing tactical plans
f) Leads OEM or Direct sales strategy/opportunities
d) Customer / Relationships
a. Stewards and protects the company’s excellent reputation within the region
b. Assists the Branch Manager in establishing mutually beneficial strategic partnerships with key customers and key vendors
c. Builds effective working relationships with Branch Managers, outside sales staff and inside sales staff
d. In collaboration with branch sales staff, establishes and nurtures relationships with key customers
Reporting Relationships
This role reports to the General Manager, Hardwoods Texas & the Regional VP. Branch Managers will continue to report to the General Manager.
Qualifications
- Education from a recognized post-secondary institution or the equivalent combination of school and industry experience
- Solid understanding of the industry and our business
- Demonstrated strong aptitude in the competencies required for this role
- Ability to think on his/her feet, solve problems and deliver under pressure
- Ability to motivate and teach sales reps
- Demonstrated ability to compromise, persuade, and negotiate in addition to excellent overall business communication skills

Work Environment
Typical office and distribution warehouse environment. Travel is required
pay range - $90,000-$110,000 plus incentive DOE
