Job Title: Transportation Customer Service Clerk
Pay: $55,000-$60,000/year

Schedule: Day Shift, Monday-Friday
Details: Weekly pay / Hourly position with OT after 40 hours
Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Transportation Customer Service Clerk to join our dynamic team. This role will play a crucial role in our logistics and transportation operations, ensuring effective customer service, efficient and accurate processing of transportation documentation and coordination of shipments.
Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Respond to inquiries from customers, carriers, and internal departments regarding transportation-related matters.
- Address and resolve any customer complaints or issues related to transportation services.
- Resolution of driver equipment requests and pallet tracking.
- Handle customer service interactions, providing updates on shipment status and delivery schedules.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Prepare and maintain transportation documentation, including bills of lading, shipping orders, and freight bills.
- Ensure all transportation records are accurately maintained and filed.
- Verify and reconcile shipping documents with shipment contents.
- Maintain and distribute route books.
- Handle accounts payable/receivable and collections, payroll, fuel reconciliation, office supplies, billing, and miscellaneous reporting.
- Maintain database and produce various reports as required.
- Audit and Compliance:
- Audit logs and trip reports and ensure compliance with DOT reporting requirements.
- Maintain driver logs and trip reports, tracking log and driver file DOT requirements.
- Audit and maintain records of driver logs and trip reports.
- Maintain files and ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies.
- Coordination and Scheduling:
- Coordinate with customers to arrange and schedule shipments.
- Monitor and track deliveries to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues that arise during transit.
- Assist with driver coverage and overflow freight.
- Daily interface with drivers to ensure smooth operations and address any issues.
- Pallet Tracking:
- Responsible for the daily/weekly maintaining of product tracking, where applicable.
- Track and report on product deliveries to ensure accuracy and availability.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics or transportation is a plus.
- 1+ years of experience in logistics and transportation required.
- 2+ years of general office or customer service experience required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and transportation management software is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance standards is a plus.
