JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for managing and executing the daily operations of the Assembly Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for the Safety of all associates within the operations group and ensuring the safety policies and guidelines are followed.
a. Understand and comply with all OSHA, safety and PPE requirements
b. Report any issues to Safety Administrator and/or Human Resources.
2. Ensure Quality requirements are met per department standards and report any issues to Quality Manager.
3. Monitors and reports daily Production activities.
4. Leads the development of work instructions, training on processes, and supervises daily operations.
5. Identifies, develops, and implements strategies to attain production targets;
6. Leads daily production meetings to communicate production goals and provide feedback on overall team performance.
7. Evaluates employee areas of improvement and implements strategies relating to employee development.
8. Lead continuous improvement efforts based on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) data.
9. Provides overall employee/team development strategies through training, coaching, counseling, and performance measurement;
10. Responsible for the engineering functions of the assembly department.
11. Ensure that SAP system is being used for all aspects of inventory control and material identification. Report critical material or shipping shortages/issues to the Materials Manager.
12. Understand and apply company policies; immediately report any issues or non-compliance to Human Resources Manager.
13. Support and ensure adherence to all daily 5S and work area organization.
14. Conduct/Manage performance evaluation of all departmental associates.
15. Other activities as related to the scope of the position.
16. Know and enforce health, safety and environmental rules
17. Seek to reduce safety risks, with support from the safety team
18. Know the health, safety and environmental procedures in your area and apply
19. No bypass safety systems and devices
20. Investigate and report accidents and incidents in your area
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. BS in Operations Management, or other similar type of business curriculum -or- 8 plus years experience in automotive transfer/prog press/metal stamping/robotic welding;
2. Experience in managing other employees.
3. Previous automotive manufacturing experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Familiarization with MRP and scheduling concepts preferably SAP.
2. Exceptional computer skills, particular with Excel and Production and Inventory Control Systems.
3. Clear understanding of material flow and Supply Chain Management – applies lean tools to improve it.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
