Position Overview
This is a key company role in which you will generate new business. The Business Development Manager develops and executes sales tactics and plans to win new business. You will be a self starter, detail-oriented, have excellent people skills, maintain a high level of activity and a solid knowledge of the heavy civil/heavy highway industry. You will be capable of developing profitable relationships with other organizations and manage the firm’s pipeline and proposal process with prime contractors and public entities.

Location
This position will be located in our Tinton Falls, NJ Office.
Responsibilities
- Primary role is to close new business
- Make 40 phone calls daily
- Maintain a high level of contact activity with clients and prospects
- Be proficient in marketing tactics
- Source new business opportunities
- Utilize the firm’s CRM system
- Effectively manage a large opportunity pipeline
- Develop relationships with Prime Contractors and Public Entities
- Work closely with upper management on sales tactics and pipeline updates
· Have a strong understanding of heavy highway construction, specifically landscaping
· Possess a comprehensive understanding each government entity’s specifications and standards.
· Self-troubleshoot and stay current on construction related trends and developments; such as methods of operation, procedures, and swift changes in the industry.
Qualifications
- Expertise in business development
- 5+ years’ experience in heavy civil/heavy highway construction
- Exposure to both private and public works
- Four-year technical degree is required
- Exceptionally strong attention to detail, strong communication, strong interpersonal and strong leadership skills.
