Qualifications
- The ideal candidate has knowledge and experience playing volleyball, as well as an ability to demonstrate proper technique to athletes.
- We are looking for someone who is positive and encouraging of athletes, teaching the sport in a student-centered manner and enjoys being a part of a school community.
- Be able to stand and walk the court without difficulty for an extended period of time, carry and lift 10-20 pounds of equipment, and be able to physically demonstrate the sport
Responsibilities
- Attend team practices weekdays from 4:00pm to 6:00pm and league games starting at 5:30pm. Saturday practices and tournaments optional and encouraged.
- Assist athletes in their development of volleyball knowledge, technique, and skills
- Support and encourage the development of sportsmanship, character, respect, and teamwork in athletes.
- Provide opportunities for athletes to get appropriate playing time throughout the season
- Communicate with the administration, Athletic Director, and coaches promptly and consistently.
- Demonstrate and encourage respectful and responsible behavior when hosting other teams and visiting other schools
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
- NFHS Concussion, Heat Illness, and Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training
- NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching Certification
Skills
- Previous experience in coaching volleyball.
- Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with players, parents, and staff.
- Ability to motivate and inspire players to reach their full potential.
- Experience working with students or youth athletes is preferred.
Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 7 – 15 per week
