The Microsoft Capacity Supply Chain and Provisioning (CSCP) organization is an exciting and fast evolving engineering group within Microsoft. CSCP’s mission is to optimize and deliver industry leading cloud infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft’s online services used by our customers around the world. The organization is responsible for strategy and delivery of the foundational platform for all Microsoft Online Services including demand and capacity forecasting, supply chain, data centers, networking, bandwidth, operations, and incident management. We are looking for a Network Supply Chain Manager to join the Network Supply Chain Team. This position will be responsible for managing long lead materials, such as switching gears, network cables and other hardware, to build out our data center network. Network Supply Chain Manager meet with suppliers regularly to understand their capabilities and compare forecasts with supply commitments to support our international requirements. This includes setting up an inventory policy (safety stock, re-order point) supporting product transitions and innovating new processes and tools to reduce cycle time and ensure supply.

Meet regularly with assigned suppliers to review forecasts, capture supply commitments, and publish internally.

Review all forecasted demand and customer purchase orders and assure compliance and supportability against our 3PL inventory positioning.

Manage metrics including days of supply, excess & obsolete (E&O), shortages within lead time and inventory exposure to improve inventory health.

Manage 3PL hub operations related to component materials.

Work with Sourcing and Capacity Planning teams on the timing and availability of product transitions to plan for platform end of life (minimizing E&O inventory) and ramp of new platforms.

Define inventory buffer targets and strategies based on historical usage and forecast and define financial risk/liability associated with said buffers Perform scenario analysis to understand impact of component shortages and demand changes to our overall supply plan.

Identify process improvement opportunities and work with cross functional teams to improve tools and process to better meet our global demands.

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Analytics, or related field AND 3+ years supply planning, operations, supply chain, indirect supply planning, technology-related supply chain, sourcing and manufacturing, or related experience

Direct experience in electronics assembly and network industry.

Supply Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
