Busy psychological practice is looking for an additional Receptionist/Billing Assistant to help manage our front desk on a daily basis and to perform a variety of administrative/billing and clerical tasks. As a Receptionist, you will welcome patients, coordinate front-desk activities, make appointments, answer phones, and assist our clinicians. To be successful as a Receptionist, you should have a pleasant personality, as this is also a customer service role. You should be able to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner. Multitasking and stress management skills are essential for this position. Flexibility is a plus. Additionally, the ability to work well with others is a must. Part of this job will also include obtaining intakes on new patients, contacting insurance companies for insurance verification, and working with the Office Manager directly on general billing issues.
Full-Time position [35-40 hours/week] - Monday through Friday: Office is open: 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
Responsibilities
· Greet and welcome patients as soon as they arrive at the office
· Answer, take messages, and forward incoming phone calls
· Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures)
· Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone
· Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries
· Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk
· Schedule appointments
· Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, and faxing
Additional Duties: Work with Office Manager on Billing Issues such as Insurance Verification
Skills
· Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role
· Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)
· Professional attitude and appearance
· Solid written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
· Excellent organizational skills
· Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
