The Marin YMCA After School Program Leader provides meaningful and enriching opportunities for youth in YMCA programs that are offered at local elementary schools in Novato, San Rafael, San Anselmo, Fairfax, Tomales, and Point Reyes. We are hiring for all locations listed below.
This is a school year position starting in August. Applicants may be able to start earlier and work at one of our summer camp locations until school starts.
The Program Leader will help students develop and strengthen academic, physical, and social skills by providing assistance, tutoring, and mentorship in the After School Program. Program Leaders will provide academic enrichment and tutoring in classroom groups of up to 20 students, as well as organize and provide outdoor recreational activities in the schoolyards.
Individuals hired for this position will work with the support, and under the supervision, of the Program Site Coordinators and Directors, and will need to be flexible, willing to take initiative, be punctual, and able to make a commitment to work throughout the entire school year.
Year-round employment is available to those interested with the combination of after school from August-June and summer camp from June-August. We offer both traditional day camps and academic-focused camps over the summer.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 18 years of age
Must have experience working with youth
Must be highly motivated to provide quality After School opportunities to youth
Must be a team player
Knowledge or expertise in youth development and willingness to learn
Must be comfortable leading physical activities with youth
Must be available daily M-F during youth program hours, approximate start time of 12:30-2pm and approximate shift end time of 5-6pm
**Modified schedules or on-call/sub positions available for candidates with limited availability
Current YMCA approved CPR and 1st Aid certification - YMCA will provide if needed
Fingerprint and TB Test clearances- YMCA will provide
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
12 college units in ECE, psychology, music, art, foreign language, physical education, dance, or related field. 270 post-hire training hours or closely related work hours can be used in conjunction with or in place of up to 12 related college units. Assistant positions are available at all locations for those needing to still me the education/work experience requirement.
Bi-Lingual skills in English/Spanish a plus but not required
Knowledge of Arts, Dance, Drama, STEAM, or Sports
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.50 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 29 per week
