The Position
You will report directly to the Plant Manager and be responsible for assisting in the acquisition of goods and services. This role includes supporting the procurement process, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring that purchases are made in a cost-effective and timely manner.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
Your primary responsibilities and tasks will include:
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to manage inventory storage and organization
- Process and track purchase orders and sales orders
- Communicate with suppliers and customers regarding order status and delivery schedules
- Assist in sourcing and selecting suppliers
- Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and negotiate terms as needed
- Coordinate shipping receiving activities
- Prepare and review shipping documents, including bills of lading
- Collect and analyze supply chain to identify trends and areas of improvement
- Generate regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turnover and order accuracy
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements
