Job Description:
Nancy's Home Care is seeking a compassionate and dedicated caregiver to join our team and provide personalized care to individuals in need. The caregiver will be responsible for assisting clients with activities of daily living, ensuring their safety, and promoting their physical and emotional well-being. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in helping others, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Provide assistance with mobility, including transferring and positioning clients as needed.
- Administer medication reminders and assist with medication management under the supervision of a nurse or healthcare professional.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and assist with feeding if necessary.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, vacuuming, and tidying up living spaces.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, engaging in meaningful conversations and activities.
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and outings as required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client care activities and observations.
- Monitor clients for any changes in health or behavior and report concerns to appropriate supervisory staff.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards to ensure the well-being of clients and oneself.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in caregiving or healthcare is preferred.
- Prior experience as a caregiver or in a related field is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- Empathy, patience, and compassion towards individuals requiring care.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver clients as needed, as well as perform tasks such as bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required for certain positions.
- Successful completion of a background check and health screenings.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.80 - $16.50 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 40 per week
