Operations Manager - Manufacturing
Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Operations to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of lean manufacturing principles, coupled with strong supervisory skills. While a background in manufacturing engineering is beneficial, it is not a strict requirement. The Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in optimizing production processes, ensuring efficiency, and maintaining high-quality standards within our manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities:
Lean Manufacturing Implementation:
- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of lean manufacturing principles throughout the production process.
- Identify and eliminate waste, streamline workflows, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
Production Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and oversee production schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing resource utilization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
Supervision and Team Leadership:
- Manage and lead a team of production staff, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes employee engagement and development.
Quality Control:
- Establish and enforce quality control standards to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Implement corrective actions to address quality issues and prevent recurrence.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory levels to minimize excess and stockouts, optimizing the balance between supply and demand.
- Implement inventory control measures to enhance accuracy and reduce carrying costs.
Cost Management:
- Work closely with the finance team to manage production costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and contribute to budget planning.
Continuous Improvement:
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging team members to suggest and implement innovative ideas to enhance operational effectiveness.
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, implementing measures to create a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and hands-on experience implementing them.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Manufacturing engineering background is a plus but not mandatory.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
