JOB SUMMARY:
The Controls Technician position is responsible for assisting in the development and delivery of control systems for manufacturing equipment for manual to highly automated assembly and test equipment. This engineering assignment will involve interaction with the Production and Manufacturing Engineering teams to troubleshoot electrical and controls of manufacturing equipment, and will also involve writing computer/PLC code for machines. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently as well as in a team based environment.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Troubleshoot and assist with controls issues on production equipment

Assist in programming equipment, robotics, inspection cameras, and operator interfaces

Verification of all controls requirements on manufacturing equipment

Assist with integrating electrical safety requirements into equipment

Assist in the delivery of all required electrical systems documentation

Help in the development of specifications (include electrical/programming/hardware requirements)
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

Two-year technical degree (or equivalent experience)
-
3 years of field experience in a manufacturing environment
-
Proficient in MS Office products
-
Knowledge of AutoCAD electrical
-
Understanding of PLC controls/Ladder Logic/Visual Basic techniques

Experience in Robotics/Automation
-
Ability to understand/create electrical schematics
-
Hands on technical experience and problem solving capability

Good communication skills / team experience
LOCATION AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
This role is based in Lexington, OH but may require travel to support program launch activities, as necessary.
