Position Title: Catering Operations District Manager
Reports to: Vice President of Catering
Responsibilities
- Serve as the direct leader for full operations of region assigned with oversight of the General Managers and catering teams at each location.
- Travel to locations within region to assist with large and/or VIP events as well as fill in on onsite teams when there are gaps in management.
- Onboard and train new in-unit Catering Operations Managers.
- Create onboarding checklists and SOP’s for teams to reference.
- Ensure all catering locations within region are meeting company standards, in addition to:
- Local, state, and federal regulations for food quality, safety, and cleanliness.
- Operational standards of SSA partners and clients.
- Collaborate with other departments within the SSA Group to coordinate catering activities and ensure the success of company-wide initiatives.
- Manage catering budgets, in conjunction with Sales District Manager, to monitor operational expenses (décor, labor, rentals, & smallwares) to ensure profitability.
- Build & maintain relationships with both internal clients as well as in-unit teams within region.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations of catering operations within region to ensure upholding of SSA standards.
- Complete visit recap form to provide feedback to GM for further coaching, where needed.

Job Requirements

- BEO management and execution of event operations experience necessary, with dedicated focus to food setup, presentation, room presence, and overall event flow.
- Culinary experience required; with ability to navigate multiple menu items and support food quality, presentation, and service to the standard of service per district locations.
- Leads team through active coaching and upholding standard of service as necessary to success of the operation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to articulate to our client, General Manager, and HQ personnel.
- Proven leadership skills with an understanding of the importance of team building/development, while fostering partnerships.
- Demonstrates financial management, merchandising, analytical, planning, and leadership skills.
- Exceptional problem solving/decision making skills combined with the ability to be organized.
Previous Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree a plus, or equivalent work experience relevant to the scope of business.
- ServSafe or Food Handling Certification a plus.
- Experience managing in a high-volume catering, fine-dining catering, and/or equivalent banquet events.
- Strong visitor service background needed.
- Experience with financial statements, capital projects, contract and client management, personnel management and development, communication and computer skills are a must for all applicants.

Compensation and Benefits
- Full-Time
- Salary – based on range in consideration of relevant job experience and certification/education; if position is physically in Colorado or California, salary range will be posted above following EPFEW Act
- Bonus eligible based on company guidelines
- Vacation or TAFW (time away from work) Plan – we want our team to take time as they need, so don’t accrue hours but rather give you freedom to schedule within scope of the business and your needs
- Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance; employee premiums applicable
- Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability, employer sponsored; scaled-salary pay following submission and approval of leave
- Birthing Parent Plan covers up to (6-8) weeks fully paid leave, based on birthing event
- (4) Week fully paid Parental leave following birth, adoption or foster event, can be coupled with Birthing Parent Plan to extend above timeline
- 401k program, eligible for enrollment after (1) year of employment during January or June open enrollment periods, company is not matching at this time
- $75 monthly cell phone stipend
