Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a driven DRSN Engineer to support our mission critical partner under the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS) Terminals, Family of Advanced Line of Site (FABT), Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) Telephone Switching Equipment contract located at Fort Greely, Alaska.
The DRSN Engineer will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
- Performing Operations and Maintenance (O&M) on Data Red Switch Network (DRSN) equipment and subsystems to include all hardware and software updates/activities.
- Maintaining all DRSN network memberships, Telecommunication Service Request (TSO) and Authorization to Operate (ATOs) as tasked by the Government.
- Perform database management to include telephone number changes, hotline changes, conference changes, routing changes, etc. as directed by MDA telephone control officer (TCO), DISA, or COR.
- Monitoring approved Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI) for all DRSN circuits, trunks, etc., that may or will cause a loss of service to customers.
- Maintaining a Master Station Log (MSL).
- Assisting the government with supply processes to include Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA).
- Providing familiarization and annual refresher training on the Integrated Service Telephones (IST) and Touch Screen Executive Telephone (TXP) for all users/customers of those devices.
- Supporting inventories of Prescribed Load List (PLL), spares, TMDE, Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI), Communication Security (COMSEC) material, Property Book, and incidental items.
- Performing duties as either a Primary or Alternate COMSEC Local Element (LE) (hand receipt holder) for DRSN COMSEC to the MDA KOAM.
- Performing Crypto device updates and perform CRO duties.
- Performing duties as either a Primary or Alternate Node Site Coordinator (NSC) for DRSN.
- Supporting Site Management in the collection of data/artifacts, as necessary, to ensure 100% CDRL compliance.
- Gaining and maintaining access to Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS)/Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet) or other classified systems in support of this work effort.
- Supporting all Government DRSN upgrades, enhancements, lifecycle, and other equipment improvements.
- Completing and maintaining all initial and annual training requirements, to include but not limited to Threat Awareness and Reporting Program (TARP), Intelligence Oversight (IO), Safety, Hazmat, New Equipment, Sustaining Equipment, Cybersecurity Awareness, Cyber Security Fundamentals, Antiterrorism, iSalute, Force Protection, Operations Security, Escort, and all Government and Peraton required training.
- Supporting, as required, mission operations at other CONUS and OCONUS locations for an extended period.
- Providing escort support of uncleared contractors and vendors, as needed.
- Performing/supporting Site additional duty and cross-training initiatives to enhance mission support capabilities.
- Supporting site inspections activities to ensure quality, safety, and compliance requirements are maintained as described in the Performance Work Statement, site specific Occupational Safety and Health Administration publications, and local/state policies/regulations.
- Supporting Peraton growth (i.e. proposals, Requests for Information, Subject Matter Expert resource) activities.
The Fort Greely mission critical support requires maintaining a team presence 24 hours per day, seven (7) days per week, and 365/366 days per year, including federal holidays. Minimal travel (
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Secret with ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret with SCI
- Bachelor's Degree plus two years of expereince or H.S. Diploma plus 6 years of experience
- Successfully complete the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) DRSN DSS-2A GENEA school training at Ft. Huachuca Arizona School within six months of assignment
- Current DoD 8140 Security+ Certification
- Short notice willingness to work/cover off shifts
Desired Qualifications
- Sufficient knowledge of telephone system equipment maintenance procedures, policies, and requirements for telephone cable outside and inside plant, Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) and DCO equipment to perform maintenance according to all applicable equipment manuals
- Knowledge of computer data transmission equipment and systems, Integrated Service Digital Network (ISDN), T-1, and packet switched data over private and public switched networks
- Knowledge of telephone Maintenance Administration Consoles practices and policies
- Familiar with Risk Management Framework and ATO guidelines
Target Salary Range
$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
