Job Summary:
The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Big Brothers Big Sisters Gulf Coast (BBBSGC) is seeking a dedicated Site-Based Program and Recruitment Manager to oversee the implementation and success of our site/school-based mentoring program. The ideal candidate is a servant leader with a strong work ethic, a growth mindset, excellent interpersonal skills, and attention to details. This position plays a crucial role in the overall success of our mentoring programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
·Bachelor’s degree in the field of psychology, education, social work, counseling, non-profit management or related field (Master's degree preferred)
·Experience working with both child and adult populations; specific assessment, program director experience preferred
· Knowledge of youth development principles and best practices in mentoring
·Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels and motivate diverse stakeholders
· Excellent oral and written communication and organizational abilities
-Effectively collaborate with other staff and maintain confidentiality through daily operations
· Excellent relational assessment and interviewing skills
·Ability to focus on details and use time effectively to collect meaningful data and draw solid conclusions
·Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, with a commitment to achieving organizational goals and maintaining confidentiality practices
·Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
·Must have own reliable mode of transportation and be able to use it to perform certain job requirements; possess a current and valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle; maintain current and valid auto insurance premiums
Desired Qualifications:
· Master’s degree and or advanced certification in a related field
· Experience with nonprofit and community-based organizations
· Experience with volunteer recruitment and management
· Experience in program management
· Educational or professional experience in social work case management or elementary education
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement strategies to effectively manage and grow site/school-based mentoring programs.
· Coordinate with school partners and other community stakeholders to ensure smooth program operations
· Assess volunteer “fit” to BBBS. Conduct volunteer enrollments including: individual orientations, interviews, and completion of any other enrollment processes.
· Conduct client enrollments including parent/child interviews, child safety education and enrollment processes.
· Assess and refer families for alternative or additional services as needed.
· Continually assess the match relationship focusing on: child safety, match relationship development, positive youth development and volunteer satisfaction. Real and/or potential problems and barriers are identified, addressed and resolved as early as possible. Match support is provided on a frequency according to agency standards.
· Ensure high-level expertise in applying child safety and risk management knowledge, policies, and procedures throughout all aspects of job function
· Assess and provide for individual training and support needs for each match participant to assure a positive youth development experience for the child, and successful and satisfying experience for the volunteer.
· Identify and communicate real and/or potential problems and barriers within matches.
· Develop strategic interventions to identify and strengthen match relationships that require extra support.
· Maintain timely documentation to assure accountability, effectiveness, and efficiency
· Cultivate relationships with schools, community organizations, and other partners to promote program awareness and recruit volunteers
-Engage in recruitment activities and documentation for the state-funded Amachi grant
· Represent Big Brothers Big Sisters Gulf Coast at community events and networking opportunities
-Collaborate with local organizations to expand program reach and resources
· Plan and implement occasional community programs
· Assist with grants and grant fidelity as needed
· Other duties as assigned

- Communication/documentation time will be spent on the phone and computer contacting volunteers, parent/guardians, and children.
