The Retail Associate plays an important role as part of the retail team at the Georgia Safari Conservation Park (“Park”). This position will work with the Retail Specialist in developing the Park’s retail operations and in fostering a memorable experience for our guests
Essential Duties, Skills & Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Provide outstanding customer service by assisting guests with product questions, purchases, and ensuring an overall positive shopping experience.
- Sales: Encourage upselling and cross-selling of products, with the goal of achieving monthly sales goals for the gift shop team.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining and monitoring inventory levels, and restocking merchandise.
- Visual Merchandising: Contribute to creating attractive displays and ensuring the gift shop’s visual appearance is clean, engaging and appealing to customers.
- Cash Handling: Oversee cash register operations, including opening and closing registers, reconciling cash, and handling returns and exchanges.
- Loss Prevention: Help implement loss prevention measures as directed by senior management and report any suspicious activities to retail specialist and/or security.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Pre-Requisites:
- Previous retail experience preferred.
- Strong customer service skills and a passion for creating positive guest experiences.
- Proficiency in cash handling, credit card sales, and the use of point-of-sale systems.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- A passion for wildlife, conservation, and the mission of the Park.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and special events as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Must be capable of standing or walking for long periods of time; ability to climb stairs, bend, and stoop during the execution of duties.
- No significant uncorrected impairment of visual or auditory ability.
- Ability to lift and carry a weight up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Perform repetitive tasks (including working on the computer) for a good portion of the workday.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of a post-offer background check, including criminal and driving records.
- Employees will be employed for a ninety (90) day probationary period.

The Park operates seven (7) days a week and will require flexibility of scheduling employees.
