Overview: The Bilingual Asset Protection Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of assets within a warehouse environment. They implement and enforce security measures to prevent loss, theft, and damage to inventory and equipment. This role involves monitoring surveillance systems, conducting audits, investigations, and collaborating with warehouse staff to maintain a secure and efficient operation. This is a highly visible role for our organization, and this individual must be a self-starter with a sense of urgency. The role requires you to effectively build relationships at all levels of the organization while providing exceptional support to our Operations leaders. Prior experience with 3PL, Retail, Distribution, Reverse Logistics/E-Commerce and/or startup experience a plus.
Job Summary: Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Surveillance: Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to detect any suspicious activity or unauthorized access to restricted areas.
2. Patrol: Conduct regular patrols of the exterior and interior of the warehouse facility to deter theft and vandalism and to ensure compliance with security protocols.
3. Access Control: Manage access control systems, including issuing and revoking access credentials for employees, visitors, and vendors.
4. Inventory Management: Collaborate with warehouse managers to implement inventory management procedures that minimize shrinkage and ensure accurate tracking of goods.
5. Investigations: Investigate incidents of theft, loss, or damage, including reviewing surveillance footage, interviewing witnesses, documenting findings, and issuing corrective action when necessary.
6. Emergency Response: Act as a first responder in emergency situations, such as fires, medical emergencies, or security breaches, and coordinate with local authorities as necessary.
7. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of security incidents, inspections, and security equipment maintenance activities.
8. Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in warehouse security and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
9. Collaboration: Work closely with the Asset Protection management and other relevant departments to address security concerns and implement effective security measures.
10. Training: Attend and obtain any necessary training to better security protocols, including proper handling of inventory, recognizing suspicious behavior, and responding to security threats.
11. Reporting: Review, investigate, and update the Asset Protection Daily Activity Report.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. Three plus (3+) years proven experience in warehouse security, loss prevention, or a related field.
2. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in security management or related field preferred.
3. Knowledge of surveillance systems, access control technology, and inventory management procedures.
4. Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
5. Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills. Bilingual preferred (English & Spanish).
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
7. Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
8. Proficiency in basic computer applications and security software.
9. Physical fitness and willingness to perform patrols and respond to emergencies as needed.
10. Understand relevant laws and regulations governing warehouse security practices.
