About the Role:
Multi-Housing Depot is looking to a hire a new Territory Sales Manager to join their team. The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing sales activities and managing customer relationships within a specific geographical area or territory. Their primary goal is to achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth for the company. This individual will be reporting to the VP of Sales and Marketing.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Territory Management: Identify and define a sales territory or region based on market analysis and business objectives. Develop a strategic plan to maximize sales opportunities within the assigned territory.
- Sales Target Achievement: Set sales targets and objectives for the territory in line with the company's overall sales goals. Develop and implement sales strategies and tactics to achieve or exceed the targets.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and accounts within the territory. Understand their needs, address any concerns, and provide effective solutions. Act as a point of contact for customers and ensure customer satisfaction.
- New Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the territory. Prospect and generate leads, conduct sales presentations, negotiate contracts, and close deals with potential customers.
- Market Analysis: Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments within the territory. Conduct market research and analysis to identify growth opportunities, market potential, and customer preferences.
- Sales Reporting and Analysis: Track sales performance and generate regular reports on sales activities, achievements, and challenges. Analyze sales data to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans accordingly.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments such as marketing, product development, and customer support to ensure alignment and coordination of efforts. Provide feedback and insights to contribute to the overall company's strategy and growth.
- Travel: Territory Sales Managers often need to travel within their assigned territory to meet with customers, attend industry events, and conduct sales activities. This requires effective time management and organization skills.
- Technical Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of the company's products, services, and solutions related to multi-housing construction. Provide technical guidance and support to clients during the project planning and implementation phases. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to multi-housing construction.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about product knowledge, sales techniques, and industry best practices through training programs, webinars, and self-directed learning. Continuously develop sales skills to improve performance and contribute to personal and team growth.
- Report quality issues.
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field
- Proven experience (3-5+ years) in sales territory account management, or business development within the construction or multi-housing industry
- Strong understanding of multi-housing construction processes, project management, and building codes/regulations.
- Strong sales skills, including prospecting, lead generation, negotiation, and closing deals
- Ability to analyze sales data, market trends, and customer behavior
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant business tools.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
