Senior Staff Accountant
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for all areas relating to GL, AR, AP and Payroll. This position must be able to handle tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, year-end audit preparation, the support of budget and forecast activities, and monthly financial reporting. This position reports to the Chief Business Officer and supervise two positions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the proper and timely billing of Private and District Contracts
- Responsible for the timely recording of cash receipts
- Responsible for Accounts Payable
- Perform revenue reconciliation; operating, investments, fundraising, and other
- Perform monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
- Perform monthly, quarterly and annual account, grant, project reconciliations, and reporting
- Prepare and participate in annual audits as well as monthly, quarterly and annual tax preparation schedules
- General Ledger maintenance
- Maintains accurate and timely records for financial and grant accounting
- Process and verify the accuracy of timecards
- Responsible for processing payroll bi-weekly
- Perform any other duties assigned according to the standards outlined in the adopted Financial Policies and Procedures Manual of the Center
Minimum Qualifications: * BA in Accounting required. CPA-candidate desired.
- Experience with Private Schools setting, nonprofit accounting, general ledger, account analysis, financial statements and understanding of restricted funds.
- 3 to 5 years prior experience in non-profit financial reporting and general ledger area.
- Experience with payroll processing and payroll processing knowledge of payroll tax labors rule and regulations.
- Experience working within professional services environment.
- Experience with Fund Accounting System.
- Must have strong experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft, Excel, Access, and Word.
- Critical thinking skills, and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize/organize workload.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
