Our client, a global technology company that provides services and solutions for the energy industry, specializing in oil and gas exploration, drilling, production, and reservoir management, is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the Houston, TX team.

Pay / Schedule: Up to $56/hr (DOE). Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm. At 40 hours per week, earn weekly paychecks of up to $2,240 gross.
The Electrical Engineer supports the Engineering Lead and Product Engineering Manager by overseeing the electrical scope and systems in large-scale data centers during the design, construction, assembly, testing, installation, and commissioning phases. Responsibilities include checking and approving drawings, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and safety of electrical work, and meeting customer and industry standards. The role involves preparing technical requisitions, reviewing vendor quotes, and creating electrical engineering deliverables like load lists, cable schedules, and diagrams. The Engineer designs earthing protection and lighting systems, prepares material take-offs and bills of materials, and supports cost-reduction initiatives. Additionally, the role includes resolving technical problems, representing the company in meetings, providing technical support during construction, and staying updated on advancements in electrical engineering and data center technologies.
Experience:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 7 years in electrical design/engineering, focusing on data center infrastructure.
- Proficient in creating design drawings/sketches.
- Knowledge and experience in construction, operation, and maintenance of data center/building electrical systems.
- Experience with high-density data centers and hyperscale environments.
- Understanding of electrical power principles, equipment sizing, and design standards.
- Familiar with electrical systems for facilities and industry standards/codes (IEC, IBC, OSHA, NEC, NFPA).
- Proficient with CAD and BIM software.
- Experience with fast-track design/build projects and significant upgrades.
- Knowledge of UPS, diesel generators, electrical switchgear, power distribution units, VFDs, transfer switches, control systems, rectification systems, and other critical data center electrical equipment.
- Familiar with medium/high voltage power distribution systems.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems impacting electrical scope.
- Experience negotiating with regulatory agencies for design approval and permitting.
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite, PDF Editors (Adobe, Foxit), ETAP, and Dialux.
- Operational knowledge of SAP, SolidWorks, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk BIM 360, Autodesk AutoCAD, and Navisworks Manager/Freedom.
