Duties:
- Answer phone calls and inquiries from patients regarding surgery scheduling
- Coordinate and schedule surgeries with patients and surgery center coordinator
- Obtain necessary patient information and medical records for scheduling purposes
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of surgery schedules in the system
- Communicate with insurance companies to verify coverage and obtain pre-authorization for surgeries
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and address any concerns or questions they may have
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with phone systems and handling a high volume of calls
- Previous scheduling experience in a healthcare environment is required (e.g., physician office, clinic or hospital)
- Hospital and Surgery registration or admitting experience is desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures related to surgery scheduling
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in using computer systems and electronic medical records
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
