The Special Education Substitute Teacher will:
- Provide educational services to students with disabilities
- Assist in planning, developing, delivering, and evaluating appropriate individualized educational services, learning programs, and instruction across the inclusion, resource, and LID instructional settings.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree
- A valid, current Special Education and/or Substitute Teaching Certification
- A valid Arizona Department of Public Safety IVP fingerprint clearance card.
- 1 year of successful Special Education teaching experience in a K-12 school (preferred)
Special Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of curriculum, instruction
- Special Education documentation/data collection
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of current Special Education practices and methodologies

HIRING PROCESS
Substitute teachers are hired on a rolling basis as substitution needs arise due to maternity leave, unexpected illness, etc. Our recruitment committee reviews all applications and will contact qualified candidates to discuss the details of assignments/openings as substitute needs arise.
