Ellumen is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to join our team and support the provision of Information Technology (IT) Application Support Services for a critical project with the Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
In this role, you will work as a vital part of our team to design and develop educational materials and resources that empower CBP personnel in effectively utilizing CBP applications. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing the IT knowledge and skills of CBP personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Design: Utilize the ADDIE Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodology to analyze training needs, develop learning objectives, and design effective, engaging, and innovative learning solutions.
Content Development: Create a variety of instructional materials including, but not limited to briefings, reference materials, instructional guides, online help resources, simulations, and demonstrations of IT hardware and software.
Technology Integration: Incorporate state-of-the-art technologies including, but not limited to gamification, mobile demos, avatars, websites, animations, and 3D modeling, into learning strategies and materials to make learning more interactive and effective.
Agile Methodology: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and adhere to Agile methodology principles to ensure the timely and efficient development of application support materials. Use Agile tools such as JIRA, Share Point, Microsoft Teams, and Confluence to facilitate project development.
Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and update instructional materials, keeping them current with technological advancements and CBP requirements. Provide recommendations for improvements and enhancements based on user feedback.
Learning Strategy: Work closely with the project team to recommend and implement learning strategies and solutions that align with CBP's current goals and objectives.
Web-Based Learning: Develop web-based learning modules and resources that can be accessed by CBP personnel to support self-paced learning and ongoing skill development.
Qualifications:
- US Citizen with ability to obtain federal clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field.
- Proven experience in instructional design, particularly in the context of Information Technology (IT) application support services.
- Familiarity with Agile tools, including JIRA, Share Point, Microsoft Teams, and Confluence. Familiarity with ServiceNow is a plus.
- Familiarity with eLearning design tools, including Captivate.
- Proficiency with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Dreamweaver, Animate, Character Animator, XD, RoboHelp).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite of applications.
- Strong creativity and innovation skills to develop engaging learning materials.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
