A Visiting Assistant Professor of Instruction position is available in Mathematics starting Fall Semester 2024. This is a non-tenure track, one-year, teaching position. Applicants should have at least an M.S. in Mathematics, experience teaching precalculus at the college level and supervising students in a peer tutoring setting. All applicants are expected to teach undergraduate mathematics courses, specifically precalculus. The teaching load is 24 credits for the academic year. In addition to serving our mathematics majors, we heavily support the engineering programs in the college. The current faculty in the department has research strengths in the areas of applied and computational mathematics, mathematics of materials, finite group theory, and geometric combinatorics. Successful applicants would be welcome participants in research efforts, however, the focus of this position is on mentoring undergraduates to increase student success.
