Davis Bacon and Prevailing Wage Compliance Specialist

Summary:
This position will be responsible for establishing, streamlining, and maintaining compliance with the Davis Bacon Act and producing timely and accurate certified payroll.
Responsibilities:

Collect and track data and prepare certified payroll reports to remain in compliance. Submit via hard copy and web-based applications including pay rates, fringe benefit statements, employer training contributions.

Verify correctness and compliance with applicable rules and regulations.

Review contracts to determine additional labor compliance requirements.

Send correspondence for missing documents and request revised documentation to ensure compliance.

Actively supports operational goals and objectives through reviewing current labor laws and complying with labor compliance requirements,

Actively manages risk associated with certified payroll requirements and proactively resolves challenges and issues as they pertain to project specific Labor Compliance.

Monitor DIR wage determinations for rate/fringe changes.

Gathers feedback and continuously makes improvements to work processes and practices.

Reviews current state and federal labor laws pertaining to Prevailing Wage requirements.

Coordinate with internal stakeholders.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:

3+ years prior experience processing prevailing wage payroll, analysis, and auditing skills, DIR reporting, reporting classifications or specialized payroll reporting (i.e., Davis Bacon Act)

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, payroll, business administration or related field.

Experience with ADP Workforce Now (preferred).

Knowledge of employment practices in the construction industry and a strong working knowledge of state/federal labor regulations.

Experience working with public works labor compliance programs preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) and accounting software.
