Look no further! Pleasanton event venues, Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery and the Palm Event Center in the Vineyard, are looking for a charismatic banquet captain for our beautiful weddings, corporate and social events. We are family owned, very successful and a busy company year-round!
As a part of our team, you will be on your feet engaging with guests for prolonged periods of time. Your role helps to create a memorable experience with each guest at every event. Displaying professionalism, strong work ethic and excellent customer service so that each guest feels special attending an event with us. Working with a large group you will always have support with any needs you or the guests have.
Responsible for the setup, execution, tear down, and delivering an elevated guest experience during events at Casa Real and The Palm Event Center. The Banquet Captain will direct the banquet staff during setup, execution and tear down to ensure the highest standards of service, appearance and safety are adhered to. Schedule consists of weekends and hours vary between day shifts and swing shifts. Flexible days/hours required based on the needs of the business and some Holiday work is required. In some cases required to oversee setup, execution, and tear down of an event. Must ensure the Beets Hospitality Vision, Values and Service Standards are energized and adhered to at all interactions and that company policies, procedures and protocols are followed.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, coaching and holding accountable all banquet team members Directs banquet staff during set-up, execution of events, and opening and closing to ensure quality and efficiencies Manages staff such that all rest periods and meal breaks are followed Manages staff such that OT is minimized whenever possible Reviews and stays up to date on upcoming events, communicating regularly with wedding, corporate sales, culinary, and property maintenance teams to ensure execution of event is achieved at the highest level Leads pre - event huddles to focus on service standard of the day, communicate pertinent facts associated with the event and client, inspect uniforms, and team build Follows all of BHG’s SOP’s and holds banquet staff accountable for adhering to them Acts as liaison between the kitchen, FOH, and the Event Managers to ensure excellent communication and guest service during events Ensures cleanliness and sanitation of food service areas and equipment Ensures all safety guidelines are enforced Ensure bar policies, as it relates to safe pouring practices are adhered to Handles issues and troubleshoots any emerging problems on event days independently and proactively Ensure proper closing of building is complete in cleanliness, organization and assuring the building is locked Encourages and inspires a positive, professional, and fun atmosphere that energizes the Beets Hospitality Vision and Values
