The primary objective of this position is to be an integral part of the Payroll Team by performing a variety of payroll functions. Key responsibilities will be focused on time and attendance compliance, with additional duties to include payroll data entry, assisting employees with system access issues, running payroll reports, processing payroll transactions, and processing garnishments and wage attachments. Resolves employee questions and ensures that payroll functions are accurately completed in accordance with established timelines, policies, procedures, and regulations. Keeps management well informed of activities and significant problems.
Required Skills and Experience
- Two+ years of related experience processing payrolls (we process weekly)
- Multi-state payroll experience a plus (we are in over 100 locations in 17 states)
- Knowledge of payroll related employment regulations (FLSA, Sick Pay, Wage & Hour)
- Knowledge of payroll tax regulations
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills
- Well-organized
- Superior integrity and confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- UKG Pro, UTM and Business Intelligence/Cognos experience a plus
- Experience with scheduling and time & attendance implementations a plus

- Assist the payroll team with daily payroll operations and meeting weekly deadlines
- Data entry and auditing: timekeeping, paid time off, transaction processing
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting employees and managers with questions
- Accurately processing new hires, rehires, changes and terminations
- Prepare final and manual pay calculations following state-specific final pay requirements
- Maintain process and procedure documentation
- Process garnishment orders and wage attachments
- Ensure appropriate record retention
- May gather and provide documentation for auditor controls and/or legal discovery
