Job Overview:
Richardson, Galena Park is seeking a Shop Manager and Equipment Maintenance Manager to help Develop and implement maintenance strategies and procedures to minimize equipment downtime and operational disruptions. Supervise and manage the maintenance team, ensuring efficient performance and compliance with safety standards. Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Manage maintenance-related budgets, balancing cost efficiency with high standards of equipment upkeep. Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers for quality services and materials. Implement initiatives to enhance maintenance procedures and reduce costs. Address equipment breakdowns promptly to mitigate hazards or interruptions.
Responsibilities:
At Richardson, the Equipment Maintenance Manager oversees maintenance and repair efforts across the organization.

Manages maintenance activities for the upkeep of service and operations support.

Oversees a range of maintenance activities and plans.

Resolve problems as they arise whether directly or by assembling teams to solve those issues.

Ensure the safety of all maintenance personnel and take corrective action where necessary.

Communicate with management on maintenance issues and see corrective measures implemented where necessary.

Provides supervision and direction for the maintenance staff.

Keep immediate managers aware of current operational status by regular communications and by issuing reports as directed.

Monitor the accuracy of inventory and maintenance systems to ensure the availability of equipment.

Responsible for work order planning, prioritization, and administration within maintenance, and operations.

Act as the first point of contact for all maintenance-related activity during operations including all activity between vessel operations, yard operations, rail operations, and gate operations.

Acts as the first point of contact for 3rd party maintenance contractors and rental equipment.

Ensures good communication between Maintenance, Terminal, and Operations teams to minimize downtime.

Maintain labor with and schedule to ensure high morale and quality production.

Coordinate with the Safety and Health Office to ensure safety and health hazards are addressed immediately and conduct regular safety meetings within the area of responsibility.

Ensure that area accident prevention/safety and worker's compensation programs and procedures are implemented, that labor is trained regularly and that accident occurrences continue to decline in frequency and severity.

Knowledge of maintenance and Richardson labor relations policies, ensuring positive labor relations, high levels of productivity, and that all policies and procedures are followed.

Ensures that all administrative procedures and reports are completed accurately, submitted on time, and to the appropriate department manager, customers, and other designated personnel.

Available for after-hours emergencies that occur on weekends and holidays.

Verifies and approves daily, weekly, and monthly labor records.

Responsible for the preparation of a wide range of reports for local and corporate use.

Work in changing hot and cold climates based on weather conditions.

Work in an environment with moving objects and machinery.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education: Not required, but preferred bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, or a related field.

Certifications: Relevant certifications such as a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Plant Engineer (CPE) are highly advantageous.

Experience: Extensive experience in maintenance, including a minimum of five years in a managerial role, preferably in the Manufacturing industry.

Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team, with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and diagnostic tools.

Responsiveness: 24/7 reliability and response for operations support is required.
Education, Experience:

Education: A High School Diploma or GED, Preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in petroleum maintenance management is preferred.

Knowledge: Must have a strong understanding of DOT rules and regulations in the motor carrier environment.

Supervisory Experience: Previous supervisory experience is required.
