Job Summary: The Associate Buyer supports the procurement and purchasing of clothing and accessories at Tenshoope by assisting in sourcing, selecting, and procuring merchandise and products. They work closely with senior buyers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure effective inventory management and optimal product selection to meet customer demand and sales goals.Responsibilities:
- Market Research and Analysis:
- Conduct market research to identify trends, consumer preferences, and potential suppliers.
- Analyze sales data and market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Supplier Management:
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and address issues as they arise.
- Purchasing and Procurement:
- Assist in selecting products and merchandise based on market trends and organizational strategy.
- Place purchase orders to replenish inventory and maintain optimal stock levels.
- Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and track product availability.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimize stock-outs and excess inventory.
- Budget Management:
- Assist in developing and managing departmental budgets.
- Monitor expenses and ensure purchases align with budgetary constraints.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, and sales teams to align purchasing activities with business objectives.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to discuss product strategies and promotional activities.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier contracts.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
- Implement best practices in procurement and inventory management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret sales performance data.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software.
