French Macaron Sales Associate
**Note that this role requires you to be 21+ to be able to have a MAST-12 permit**

Do you want to make as much as $35/hr working in an enchanting environment selling cookies and putting smiles on peoples faces every day? We are looking for a few very special people to take a lead role in our macaron parlors at both of our Eastside locations.
In this super-fun role, you would bring the vibe with your bold personality, your love for people, your self-assured presence, and your adoration of French Macarons and the Lady Yum world.
You will have a knack for welcoming in our guests as strangers and sending them off with lightened spirits, a smile on their face, and a connection made - transformed into fans.
You treat everyone as your next ‘Regular’.
You’ve been known to calm storms, lift others up, and enchant.
You can lead the circus with command, care, respect, and friendliness - especially when things get hectic.
ABOUT LADY YUM:
Lady Yum is a collection of boutique shops and multi-generational gathering places dedicated to providing artisan French Macarons, a large variety of wines and champagnes, and delicious, local specialty food and gifts. We make all of our macarons locally with love in small batches in our Kirkland Mac Factory.
While on the outside, you’ll see that we sell the macaron and champagne experience, but it’s really all a front for what we REALLY sell and advocate for:

DETAILS:
This is a service position. You will work directly with your guests and regulars to guide them through all that Lady Yum offers: Selling Macarons, Serving Champagne, Sharing Stories, Deepening Connection, and Making People Feel Seen.
You and your colleagues will care for the macarons and macaron parlors with meticulousness - and take ownership in ensuring that your parlor has everything it needs to deliver an incredible experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Deliver the most amazing customer service.
- Anticipate the needs of guests including adjusting your style of service.
- When guest complaints arise, handle with respect by listening, acknowledging, solving the issue, and thanking them.
- Welcome and thank directly and intentionally every customer.
- Understand our wines and how they pair with our macarons.
- Educate customers on our menu - offer samples, provide menu suggestions, and suggest ways to elevate their experience.
- Keep calm and stay friendly when it gets busy. Treat the crowd as if you're throwing a party. Help them have fun!
- Assist in training new associates and ensuring procedures are followed when management is not present.
- Share what’s awesome about Lady Yum: our philosophy, our local products, our people.
- Bring music to work to contribute to the shop’s fun environment.
- Hustle to keep the shop looking great and fully stocked.
- Continually stock the macaron case and merchandise as it’s purchased.
- Operate cash register and follow our handling procedures.
- Transfer product to and from our cases and storage with care.
- Keep the shop inviting and clean: inside and out, front and back.
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Work cooperatively and openly with all team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be over 21 in order to hold MAST-12 permit and serve alcohol.
- Have extraordinary communication skills and a professional, friendly attitude.
- Minimum 2 year Prior Server, Customer Service, Food Service, and or hospitality experience required.
- Must work well independently and in a small team.
- Must be able and happy to work 8 hour days. Shifts will include opening or closing shifts. Store hours are generally 10am – 10pm in most locations.
- Be available to work 37-40 hour weeks with no planned absences longer than 7 days in a row, June through August and in December. All time off requests during these months will be considered on a case by case basis.
- Willingness to pick up shifts in other shops on occasion is a plus.
- Have the highest integrity and ethics.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Able to pass a background check.
- Ability to lift 25lbs on a regular basis.
- Have access to a phone that can text and make calls.
- Have access to the internet.
- Education: High School or equivalent preferred.
COMPENSATION
- Total pay typically between $25 and $32 / hour ($16.28 wage with average tips between $10 and $16 / hour (some of our top associates earn more than $20 an hour in tips).
