Summary:
The caregiver will be responsible for providing a nurturing environment, support, and guidance to the girls in our care. This role involves creating a safe and comfortable living space, assisting with daily activities, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean and organized home.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Emotional Support: Develop positive relationships with the girls, offering emotional support, encouragement, and guidance as needed.
- Supervision and Assistance: Monitor the girls' activities, ensuring their safety and well-being. Assist with daily tasks such as personal hygiene, homework, and recreational activities.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks according to dietary requirements and preferences. Encourage healthy eating habits and teach basic cooking skills.
- Household Management: Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming living environment. Perform routine cleaning tasks, laundry, and general household chores.
- Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and progress. Communicate effectively with the management team and other staff members.
- Crisis Intervention: Handle challenging situations calmly and effectively, following established protocols for crisis management when necessary.
- Collaborate with Team: Work collaboratively with other caregivers, social workers, therapists, and external agencies involved in the girls' care.
- Role Modeling: Serve as a positive role model for the girls, demonstrating appropriate behavior, conflict resolution, and social skills.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or training in child care, social work, or related fields is preferred.
- Proven experience working with children or adolescents in a group home, residential care setting, or similar environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with young individuals.
- Understanding of trauma-informed care, behavioral management techniques, and child development.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and remain calm under pressure.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotating schedule.
