DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for oversight of project scope, scheduling, cost/budget, delivery of design and engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and delivery with continuous input and support from Project Support team. Take corrective actions when needed.
- Support and provide consult during estimation and proposal generation; manage FEL-3 execution.
- Remain accountable for the overall project scope, cost / profitability (GP), schedule, and quality delivery to provide the Ideal Customer Experience.
- Lead the Integrated Project Team (IPT) through the entire project lifecycle.
- Manage interface with Customers and Sales on assigned projects as the responsible point-of-contact; communicate effectively, manage expectations, and keep stakeholders informed the entire way.
- Guide the Project support team in the preparation, coordination, and maintenance of the Project Plan (PP).
- Create a comprehensive budget and support the team in the development of the baseline schedule (internal and Customer-facing).
- Conduct key meetings: hand-off, internal / external kick-off, status updates, etc.; ensure IPT members understand what is expected of them and what they should expect from one another.
- Organize, plan, and track resource usage with the assistance of the Project support staff.
- Understand scope and documentation requirements and needs, safeguard against scope creep.
- Execute change management process and direct PCs for Change Orders, when needed.
- Create and manage contracts with vendors and subcontractors to ensure timely deliveries.
- Facilitate quality tests, quality assurance, and factory assurance tests for the Customers.
- Monitor project expenditure for billable efficiency, IPT utilization, order milestones, product lead times, etc. with input from PCs.
- Oversee execution of all financial aspects of the project by the PCs such as payments to vendors and subcontractors, invoicing, revenue and cost recognition, timesheets, expense reimbursements, etc.
- Govern the balance and close-out process of the project by the PCs per accounting standards.
- Execute the lessons learned process to capture and analyze project delivery, stakeholder engagement, and vendor / subcontractor performance; apply relevant findings on the new project.
- Ensure up-to-date and detailed project documentation.
- Perform quality control throughout the project lifecycle to maintain the standards expected.
- Consult and collaborate internally with the PMO Management and BUs, and cross-functionally with Sales, to optimize team performance and ensure open communication, identify and execute continuous work process improvement, and certify Customer satisfaction and repeat business.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field of study preferred.
- Background in managing and delivering Automation projects required.
- Advanced proficiency in project scheduling software such as MS Project, Smart Sheets, or Primavera P6; PMI PMP certification will be advantageous.
Experience/Skills:
- 5+ years of project management experience; proficient in project execution standards.
- Proficient in use of common software such as MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
- Effective coach with a growth mindset, proven leadership, and motivation skills.
- Strong ability to collaborate and network with other groups and functions to reach business objectives, in support of Customer / Partner requirements.
