The Freedom Center, LLC is currently seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Technician for our IOP/PHP addiction treatment facility located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The Freedom Center treats individuals with various addiction types by offering a flexible and affordable solution while minimizing the disruption of daily life.
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides support to clients, helps with day-to-day living, and maintains the community at The Freedom Center. The BHT assists clinical and administrative staff in providing a safe, relationship-based, therapeutic enriching environment for the outpatient program. The BHT acts as a representative of treatment staff and observes all patient activity, maintains a visible presence on the clients at the treatment center, and at outside activities. The BHT is responsible for driving the company vehicle to ensure clients arrive safely and on time each day for scheduled actives.
We currently have the following openings:
- Full-time, Evening Shift: 3pm-11pm, with one weekend day.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from High School or equivalent/GED is a MUST, will be verified.
- Clean motor vehicle record, with minimum of 3 years driving experience. Must be insurable with our company insurance carrier.
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 1-year experience working in treatment industry (substance abuse/chemical dependency) preferred.
- Behavioral Health or Mental Health Experience is a plus.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
- CPR required.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Certified Peer Recovery Specialists, preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop a daily/weekly structure for clients.
- Transport clients to and from appointments and meetings, when necessary.
- Instruct and confirming the company’s rules and regulations to new admissions.
- Orientate new clients to the facility.
- Facilitate communication with ancillary services.
- Build positive relationships with staff and physicians.
- Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment.
- Follow Infection Control guidelines at all times.
- Complete and forwarding copy of Incident Reports and any other safety/risk issues immediately to the designated party.
- Provide a safe, therapeutic environment for staff and clients.
- Conduct Waived Tests and Breathalyzers as required.
- Provide a daily report on the hourly rounds made that shift.
- Additional tasks/duties, as assigned.
