Seeking energetic part-time (30 hours per week) OR RN’s for a fast-paced Ophthalmic Ambulatory Surgery Center in Itasca, IL.

Job Qualifications:

Highly motivated and ability to multi-task efficiently under demanding situations.

ACLS/PALS/BLS on Hire or within 90 days of hire.

Minimum of 1 year experience required.

Responsibilities
-
Assesses patient and family needs in order to provide quality care to assigned patients.

Identified the patient and correct surgical intervention according to policy/procedure and communicates such information to all members of the surgical team.

Prepares the operating room according to requirements of patient/procedure to be performed.

Maintains patient confidentiality.
-
Ensures proper operation of equipment prior to start of surgical case and reports any malfunctions to Administrator.

Maintains up‑to‑date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team, in order to ensure quality care.

Is responsible for making sure all pre-surgical testing has been done and on chart prior to procedure.

Is responsible for making sure all consents have been signed by patient, surgeon and anesthesia as per policy.

Will be available to the physician for assistance with site verification or other as needed.

Maintains current knowledge, certification, and licensure. Pursues professional growth and development.

Directs non-licensed personnel in the provision of care to patients as assigned.

Is able to identify potential problems quickly and responds according to the patient’s needs.

Works closely with the anesthesiologist and physician during the intra-operative phase of the patient.

Reviews OR schedule daily, as well as collaborating with Administrator, anesthesia and surgical staff.

Delegates tasks to ensure that patient care is provided and the needs of the center as a whole are met.

Reviews all patient care documentation relevant to the services and assess compliance and completeness.

Assists the Administrator to monitor/maintain center compliance with regulatory, accrediting and Center policy for patient services, and environmental and personnel safety.
